Vasileios Pateras
Vasileios Pateras is managing partner of Alpha Omega and he splits his time between Athens and Monaco. Mr. Pateras is the third generation of the Pateras family, a line of shipowners from the island of Oinnouses Chios where his great-grandfather established the first shipping company of the family about 100 years ago. He has been actively involved in the shipping industry for about 30 years, lastly as director of Neptune Dry Management, a shipping company established in 2017 which within 5 years until his departure in 2022 more than doubled its market cap applying a long-term charter and low entry point strategy. A prominent figure in the field of non-profit organizations, he is the founder and has been a two-term President of Axion Hellas, a non-profit Greek charity organization focused on the well-being of Greek citizens in the remote islands of Greece. Vasileios has been awarded the highest honor for any Greek citizen, the Medal of the Order of Phoenix by the President of the Hellenic Republic in September 2023 for his contributions to the nation. Vasileios served in the Greek Navy Seals between 1989-1991 and has been an active supporter and donor ever since.
Thanos Pasialis
Thanos Pasialis is managing partner of Alpha Omega and is based in Singapore and has 18 years of experience in the shipping industry, focusing on commercial and financial projects and general management. Before co-founding Alpha Omega he was heading the project desk of Ifchor Singapore, one of the biggest shipbroking firms in the world including acquisitions, long term employment contracts and financial lease transactions. Previously he was appointed as general manager of the physical asset transactions desk of SSY the biggest private shipbroking firm, managing a diverse team of multiple ethnicities and backgrounds. Previous experience includes project manager for a private shipping group with offices in Athens, Dubai and Singapore. Has transacted deals worth more than $1 billion in second-hand acquisitions, new-building orders in China, Japan and Korea, sale and leaseback transactions with financial institutions as well as projects combining acquisitions with long term charter coverage to top tier counter-parties. Thanos holds a B.Sc. in Business and Management, an MSc in Shipping, Trade and Finance from Cass Business School and is completing the Global Executive MBA from INSEAD.
